Title: export variable save

i feel really stupid to ask this question ,
i have compiled pwlib openh323 and gnugk on the system
however when i run the "export PWLIBDIR" commands they only are available until i close that session.
How do i make them load and stay for all sessions.
what file can i put them into to load on boot as gnugk will not work without them.  :-( :hammer:  

thanks for any help given this is really starting to get on my nerves

save the settings in to /etc.profile.d/e-smith.sh
