Title: how to make sme7 authenticate against win2003 ADS domain?!
Post by: jester on February 13, 2006, 10:08:34 AM
Has someone achieved joining an SME7 server with a Windows ADS (win2003) domain and have SME7 authenticate against the ADS?!

No (not me anyway) but this would be beyond kick-ass if it could be done.  I have played with it (samba on regular non-sme linux boxes) before and have had hit-n-miss, almost got it working results - but I have yet to get solid, reliable voodoo conjured up to get a linux box working (reliably) doing authentication against an AD domain.

I would love to see this happen with SME 7...  ;)

Title: Users shared on SME servers
Post by: nornes on February 14, 2006, 12:34:37 PM
I guess this question fits in here:

Does anyone have any experience with sharing user profiles on more SME servers?

I'm using one server for web/mail and another as fileserver/CVS repository. I'm using two machines for enhanced security. The web/mail server is the only one exposed to Internet.

I'd like the web/mail server to use profiles created on the fileserver? Is there a simple solution to this?

Just to let you know, solution that works for me, but not sure about security risks... see:
