Title: How do I change the domain of the server?
Post by: adamk on February 14, 2006, 12:30:43 AM
I am setting up a server pretty much just for network storage, but made a mistake in the initial setup.  For the domain I put:

schoolname.edu

but now the server thinks it is ftp.schoolname.edu, www.schoolname.edu, etc... Really what I want is:

servername.schoolname.edu

So that this server isn't trying to be the schools ftp/www/mail server.  In the web server manager I can't find any options to change this.  How would I go about fixing this?

Thanks.

Not sure, but i think you can either log in using putty with the username admin, and rerun the setup, or sitting at the machine login with admin and rerun the setup.  It should have a option to reconfigure the server.  I could be wrong but i think that i remember seeing this option in there somewhere.
