Title: backup strategy on multiple SME servers
Post by: nornes on February 14, 2006, 11:20:53 AM
Hi

[post changed. Previously included SME7 related problems]

With a basic understanding of Linux i find SME server the perfect solution to handle all backoffice and server related tasks. Much less time consuming than a similar Microsoft setup. Great work!!

I am considering changing the tape backups with USB harddrives. I'd like to share the device on one SME server and mount it on the other server, resulting in both machines backup to same harddrive. I'd like the backup to be similar to a "desktop" backup, but filenames should reflect servername and date. Daily full backups will be just fine. Anyone have any experience with such a setup?

Since i have two fairly identical setups that used to work i assume the problem is software related. Any directions towards solving my problem would be helpful.

Please raise all issues with the 7.0 test series in the bug tracker, and only in the bug tracker. Thanks.
