Title: SME and user authentication
Post by: jriemens on February 14, 2006, 12:06:28 PM
I am using SME 7 at home and I'm extremely happy with it. I also run a business with 5 employees and a small linux based Toshiba server. I am thinking about buying new server hardware and run SME 7 at work also. I want to be able to work from home with a windows terminal server. My knowledge stops here unfortunately. I have talked to some linux experts and mentioned SME. His question to me that I would like to aks you guys is:

Can I use SME 7 for user authentication?

Best regards,

Jaap
Title: Windows domain controller

I used to run a windows domain controller on Sme5.5 and 6.0 and created user accounts on the SME server. Worked fine with windows clients (2000 and xp). I assume this still works in Sme7.
The ability comes with the standard package - no need for additional installs :-)
