Title: Document Management Systems on SME 7.x
Post by: orcusomega on February 16, 2006, 09:18:30 PM
For those of you trying to figure out a good document management system, I finally got jLibrary working on my SME7pre1 server, and it is pretty cool (I am still trying to learn all the ins and outs of configuring it) but a great addition if you have like a SOHO kind of deal.

http://jlibrary.sourceforge.net

That being said, does anyone have any other experiences with a decent DMS system on a SME box?

Thanks,

Bob

Hello orcusomega

I'll have to check this one out ... looks nice.

I've been looking for a good DMS system for a while now ... I did find Xoops with a DMS addon module that works well. It is loaded onto an SME6 test server a work atm and don't know if it works on SME7.

I have an SME7 test unit here at home so I'm definatly going to check out the one you have found.

Tib

Hello orcusomega,
what steps and rpms do you need to install?
Could you give a short howto?

I recently installed the new version of knowledgetree and I have to say that its a big boost compared to the old version.

I found another good DMS system ... Knowledge Tree ... looks and works really nice. I've only checked out the windows version but you can load it onto linux as well ... next on the list I guess.

Hello bender42

Maybe I should open my eyes before I post ... just noticed you loaded Knowledge Tree as well ... before me lol.

How did you get the .htaccess setup ... I know it works fine wihout setting this up but I would like to set it up right as I'm going to be using it in a production environment. Also the bit in paths ... /tmp Unwriteable ... seems to work without this setup as well but again I would like to set it up 100%.

Buy the way it works in SME ver 6.0.1-01 as well as in SME 7.0 Pre3.

Title: Any step-by-by install instruction for ktdms on sme7 ?
Post by: festus on October 07, 2006, 02:35:05 PM
Since some of you seem to have successfully installed ktdms on sme7, could you please help me find some step by step instruction installing the latest version of ktdms on sme7 ?

The only sme contrib package I can find was from vanhees, but it is a older version of ktdms. Since I could not find any other contrib, I tried out the package available at www.vanhees.cc. The package from vanhees installed without any error, but when I tried logging in the page timed out.

Would very much appreciate if anyone who has successfully install the latest version of ktdms on sme7 to provide a step by step instruction or point me to any such howto instruction already available. Many thanks in advance.
