Post by: laurie_lewis on February 17, 2006, 02:48:22 AM
Hi all,

Does version 7 of SME support USB ADSL modems or do I still need to put in two network cards.

Thanks

It hasn't been tested, to my knowledge. However, the USB hotplug support is there and may do the trick. Why don't you try it and report? Or you could send me one.

I don't own one either (yet) - thinking about a project.

I got one working once. It was fiddly. The biggest problem however was that it depended on proprietary binary drivers (Alcatel), which were not redistributable. Until that license changes, we can't support that out of the box.
