Title: manual typo?
Post by: Stephan Goeldi on December 26, 2001, 12:02:31 PM
In section 6.4. (Installing the software) the manual says in step 2:

"The installation (or upgrade) process formats and erases all attached hard drives"

When this is really true for the UPGRADE too, so why should anyone consider to do an upgrade?

Yes, just to confirm, it is a typo. The upgrade will replace certain files, but will *not* (thankfully ) wipe hard drives.

Luke

Wowzer... in all the many, many proofreadings of the
manual, that is one that was never caught!  Now if only
I had a prize to give out... :-)

Many thanks for the catch, and I have logged it as a bug
to be fixed in the next version.

Regards,
Dan

P.S. If you (or anyone else) stumbles upon any other typos,
please report them to "documentation@e-smith.com", as we
do not always have the time to monitor these discussion boards.
Thanks.
