Title: SME CD's sold on E-Bay
Post by: micropitt on February 19, 2006, 04:15:01 PM
I always thought that references to GPL have to be included? No?
link to E-Bay (http://cgi.ebay.com/EASY-LINUX-Server-OS-with-VPN-FTP-WEBSERVER-NAS-1U-2U_W0QQitemZ5869184853QQcategoryZ11227QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)
He also is selling BlueQuartz CD's, another GPL Server OS.

Micro,

Is that required in an ad?  The little picture does have the copyright notice.

At any rate, the price is good... assuming you don't have a CD-R.

I think what bothers me a little bit is that the guy makes it sound like (special with the Bluquartz ad) he is the developer of the software and he does not give any credit to the real developers.
I'm not very firm with legal issues regarding GPL but if i remember correct you have to point out that it is GPL'd software. And of course you are not allowed to re-sell GPL'd software and the ads don't tell that he burns copys from ISO images.
