Title: RPC Server error on login (Sometimes)
Post by: agfs on February 22, 2006, 09:57:33 PM
Hi There,

Anyone help with "RPC server unavailable" error on login from XP client?

Situation very strange. On Windows XP PC joined to SME "Domain" I can log in OK every time & everything works fine. 2 iother users can log in fine.

One user can not log in to domain from this PC and get error "RPC Server is unavailable". This user CAN log in to SME domain from different PC.

The PC is completely clean (brand new) no other errors at all.

System: SME Server 7.0pre3

Thanks in advance  :-D

Andy

Sounds like specifically a WIndows XP issue. Might have nothing at all to do with SME server.

Try setting the registry key "RequireSignOrSeal" to a value of 0 on the troublesome Win XP machine.
