Does anyone have a panel for 6.0.1 that allows for restarting of the httpd service?
I'm going on holidays and sometimes after the server reboot due to power issues the httpd service needs to be restarted but I don't want to give server command line control to anyone.
That's all I need it to do is to issue the "service httpd restart" command.
Or maybe someone has an alternative idea that would accomplish the same result of restarting the httpd service but without having to go to the server command line.
Thanks in advance

Hello edb,
Have you tried the services addin with User Panel Access addin ... I can't remember where I found the services panel addon ... just do a search.
You can give certain ppl access to the services panel and maybe try stopping then restarting from there.
I haven't tryed it that way but it's worth a shot. Only thing is they will be able to stop/start all services that are on the panel.

Thanks Tib, but this is for 5.5
Are you sure it will it also work on 6.0.1 cause I don't want any problems caused by adding this just before I leave tomorrow.
Thanks

Thats the Ver I use on my 6.0.1-01 and all works fine ... I just re-checked it.
I use it at work as well as home.

There is only one prob with what I just sugested .... if your httpd is down you won't be able to access your server-manager through the browser anyway.
and if you turn off httpd through the server-manager you'll have to turn it back on through the command line option.
will work for all other services though.

Thanks Tib
I guess I'll just have to give them command line.
Thanks again for your suggestions.

Indeed. And rather than adding a method to restart apache, wouldn't it be better to find out why it is stopping and fix it? If apache is dying, you should open a bug in the bug tracker.
