Title: Trouble logging in to CUPS admin
Post by: silasp on February 28, 2006, 10:07:03 AM
Hello.
I'm having trouble logging in to the CUPS administration section.
The HTTP authentication keeps rejecting the 'admin' username and password.

(This is on SME server 6.0)

This started happening after I performed a yum update.
Cups itself seems to be working. (Ie I can print to printers, etc).

I have tried changing the system group and adding the admin user to it, still the same problem. (As described in
http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/contribs/rvandenaker/beta/e-smith-cups/documentation/howtos/hidden-settings.html )

Also tried a "force" RPM install of the cups files. Still not working.

Does anyone know how to reset (or disable) the cups web panel admin password?

Cheers,
Silas.[/url]

Had a similar problem after installing CUPS-updates.
I uninstalled CUPS and installed it again without updates.
Have you uninstalled LPR?
