Title: Mail connection dies to one domain only...
Post by: Ness on March 06, 2006, 06:31:17 PM
Hello

Mail server been running flawlessly for almost 3 years. 6.0.1.

Sending to a new remote email address results in failure after a number of days.

Log file shows:

@40000000440c6e9329306154 info msg 2687133: bytes 1376 from <user@originating_domain.com> qp 22406 uid 404
@40000000440c6e9334cbe45c starting delivery 45010: msg 2687133 to remote remote_username@remote_domain.net
@40000000440c6e9334cbf014 status: local 0/10 remote 1/20
@40000000440c6e9931dbb1dc delivery 45010: deferral: Connected_to_nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn_but_connection_died._(#4.4.2)/
@40000000440c6e9931dbc17c status: local 0/10 remote 0/20

Email to the same remote user from an identical SME server 6.0.1 is fine.

Looking at earlier postings, I see that the suggestion was to disable SMTP Proxy. Did this. Still the same problem.

Does anyone have an idea where to look next please?

Chris

Ask the remote domain. It's their SMTP server which is not doing its job.

Thanks Charlie...

I suspect I'll get some resistance from the remote domain people if I just state their SMTP server is misbehaving. Could you give me a bit more information that would help me substantiate my position?

Cheers
