Title: Gigabit Lan Cards
Post by: mike_mattos on March 08, 2006, 05:55:05 PM: I recently tried the SME7 sk98lin drivers to run Marvell adapter on an ASUS mother board, but the network isn't loading.

My web search was discouraging, to say the least, Marvel suggests re-compiling the kernel!

Rather that re-invent the wheel, are there any gigabit adapters that are recommended for SME7 ? I'm considering the INTEL 1000, which has a link at this site to an installation rpm, any others recommended?

We briefly had trouble with the same card. Dropped and in favor of an e1000. I have also had good sucess with linksys gigabit cards.

Post by: gippsweb on March 16, 2006, 01:05:56 PM: We have a Reltek 8169 card in ours, but it isn't all that quick. (Maybe my setup). But I'm not getting the system lockups under load that others are having with centos 4.
