Title: SME Server 7.0 PRE4 - SAMBA filename - 8 character limit
Post by: derekbb on March 17, 2006, 03:00:21 AM
Help - I have searched the forums but cannot find anything (No seriously I have) SAMBA does not display the filenames correctly on folders/directorys if they are longer than eight characters long - how can I change this. I create the folders via SMB and an XP PC but when browsing the foldernames longer than 8 characters come up with random names. They dont even display as longfile~1  - Am I missing somethin? Should this post be elsewhere? Please advise
 :-(

To the bug tracker please. We need to work out why this is happening for you. If it were common, we would already know about it.
