Hi all,
When I reboot my sme-6.0.1-1 server, I get the following error:
Stopping IMAP: Incorrectly built binary which accesses errno or h_errno directly. Needs to be fixed.
When I try to reinstall e-smith-imap-1.2.0-03sme001.noarch.rpm I get the following error:
Segmentation fault
Any ideas how to fix this?

My guess is you've upgraded glibc. You need to revert to the original version.

Hi Charley,
Thanks,
Yes indeed, I've upgraded glibc.
I upgraded the following packages:
tzdata-2005r-3.fc3.noarch.rpm
shadow-utils-4.0.3-37.i386.rpm
libselinux-1.17.14-1.i386.rpm
libgcc-3.4.4-2.fc3.i386.rpm
glibc-headers-2.3.6-0.fc3.1.i386.rpm
glibc-devel-2.3.6-0.fc3.1.i386.rpm
glibc-common-2.3.6-0.fc3.1.i386.rpm
glibc-2.3.6-0.fc3.1.i386.rpm
binutils-2.15.92.0.2-5.i386.rpm
Which version of glibc do I need to get IMAP work again? (what is the original version)

Hy Charley,
When I try to remove the rpm's I get a lot of dependency-errors. When I try "rpm -e --nodeps [packages]" I get:
Segmentation fault
How can I restore the original glibc rpm's

Yes indeed, I've upgraded glibc.
Why did you do that?
(what is the original version)
2.2.5-44

You should only every use --nodeps or --force if you know exactly what you are doing and why you are doing it.

I don't know. You have seriously broken your system. You may have made it worse by trying to remove glibc packages - they are *essential*.
Your best way forward might be to attempt an upgrade to 7.0rc1.
I hope you have a good backup, because the only certain way forward is to do a fresh install and restore from backup.

Hi,
I did it because I wanted the newest version of Midnight Commander. I didn't realise the consequences.
I tried --nodeps and --force, but nothing happens because of the error "Segmentation fault".
Do you think it is saver to upgrade to 6.5 first before I upgrade to 7.0?

No.

Thanks Charley,
I will upgrade to 7.0.
