Title: sme7 as syslog server problem
Post by: hanscees on March 25, 2006, 08:42:09 PM
Hi,
I am trying to route some syslog form a sip-phone to the sme7 server.
I see syslog coming in with tcpdump.
It is also not blocked by iptables I believe.
But I see nothing in /var/log/messages.

Any tips why not?

greetings

Hans-Cees

syslog doesn't listen to the network unless you tell it to. See "man syslogd" and /etc/sysconfig/syslog.
