If you are trying to make an vm machine when you begin the creation of the machine choose RHE4 as the linux type and it should work. I have just built one of these and it works fine.

I can confirm what Tony say's as I've used VMware for all my testing on 7.0x

Use the Guest OS as Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 as Centos is based on that!

I'm trying to install 7.0rc1 in a virtual machine in VMWare Server using RHEL4 as the guest OS and I'm getting the same error.  What parameters (memory, HD size, etc.) did you use for your successful installation.

Thanks,
BB

Brian,

I've been using VMware with SME 7.0x since the early alpha release's with no problems...I boot from ISO which is held on my computer...here is setup...

My PC is a AMD 64bit 2800+ this is the Vmware config i have...

Memory 256MB
2GB Harddisk (I did have problems IIRC with any thing less the 2GB on my VWmare)
Has floppy connected at power on
Ethernet is Bridged
Virtual Processor's is set to 1

I'm using version 5.5.0 of VMware
