Title: Tracking CentOS releases
Post by: MSmith on March 29, 2006, 08:46:53 PM
CentOS 4.3 is out, very recently ... if I may ask of the developers, how closely do you intend SMEServer 7 to track the CentOS releases?  Will 7.0 "gold" be delayed to incorporate 4.3, or would it make more sense to do a 4.3 overhaul later?  Inquiring minds wanna know ...

P.S. RC1 is a superb product!  Many, many thanks.

Such minds should look in the Bug Tracker. If it's not there, it's not gunna happen.

Centos 4.2 used kernel 2.6.9-22.0.2.EL
Centos 4.3 uses kernel 2.6.9-34EL

SME Server 7.0pre4 used 2.6.9-22.0.2.EL
SME Server 7.0rc1 uses 2.6.9-34EL

So looking at that I would have thought that SME Server is already tracking CentOS pretty closely (or at least the kernel side anyway).
