Title: Apache, ftp server, and DNS Newbie Q.
Post by: Scott Lewis on January 07, 2002, 11:48:00 AM
Is Apache installed as standard upon installation, if not can someone point me in the direction of a How To install it.

Also, ftp server. Is there a How To, on setting one up.

Also, using a DNS redirection service? I know there is dnsdns but on my WIndows PC I use dns2go from deerfield, does this work with e-smith server.

I have a basic knowledge of Linux and this is my first install so please bare with me.

I have the same problem.....but, I am using a Windows 2000 Advanced Server behind the firewall.  It does all the profile login's for the domain.  I also run the d2g software from it, as a service (at least until i can figure out how to use cron!). That seems to work fine, at least until the W2k machine crashes :p  There is some software available from deerfield , so i downloaded the redhat version. Haven't played with it yet, but will definately let u know.

If someone else has a fix....please let me know too!

Troy.
