Thanks for the advice re patience!

However as a e-smith newbie I've got no experiece as to how much patience is required.  i.e.

Are the e-smith team like Micro$oft, who take several releace candidates (and months) to get from final beta to Gold.  Is is it more usually a matter of weeks or days with e-smith.  Anyone care to share any insights?

My reason for asking is taht I have a Wion2k network and am trying to work out wether to:
- Instal SME 5.0 and patch SAMBA
- Instal 5.1beta4 - (and would this upgrade to 5.1r?)
- Or wait for the release of 5.1

Any help would be appreciated!

Definitely not like M$ :-) With 5.1 in beta4, my guess is that you'll see a gold release within a few weeks. Unless you are in a major bind to ditch the dog -- oops, I mean W2K -- quickly, I'd wait for the 5.1 final.

i'm using  V5.1b4  right now. No complain so far, in fact I'm extremely pleased with it. I set  it up as  a PDC and roaming profiles works fine with W2K and XP.
