Hi
I’m looking to put on a wifi portal and came across wifidog http://dev.wifidog.org which looks like it could do job for me. I’ve tried installing on SME 7 but I get error PHP ERROR Version 5.0.0 needed. Would I be better try SME ver 6 ?
Anyway I would love to hear from anyone that has already got it up and working.
I've just done a search for a ver 5 rpm and found

would I be able to just install one of these to upgrade php on SME ver 7 ? or would it mess things up to much ?

PHP only seems neccesarry for the Auth module, according to the FAQ.
It might mess up things as the settings from PHP5 differ from PHP4 as I remember correctly.
As SMEServer uses a template system to build the /etc/php.ini file you will have to modify all the snippets of the configuration files/configuration database to your needs... I think it will definately not run out of the box :-(
