Title: Blocking excesive email connections from the Net

He have been receiving lately a lot of connections from outside
that try to send infected email to my server. The problem is that clamav
seems to become overloaded.

How can we do to detect those connections and drop them?

Not exactly the answer to your question, but using the following tips may reduce the load on clamav and fix your problem.
