After almost 2 years using SME Server, this is my first post - a plea for advice.
After setting up a new 7.0 rc1 box and moving my user accounts to it using the rsync method, I'm having a problem with the upsmon (I think). Every 2 minutes or so, I get a broadcast message that says: "UPS UPS@localhost is unavailable".
I have a Belkin USB UPS attached. My startup log shows this line:
Apr 10 18:02:10 mail kernel: hiddev96: USB HID v1.11 Device [Belkin UPS] on usb-0000:00:03.2-1
- So that's good, right? The UPS seems to be visible. Later on in the log though, there is this:
Apr 10 18:02:47 mail nut: Starting newhidups:
Apr 10 18:02:47 mail newhidups: Network UPS Tools: New USB/HID UPS driver 0.28 (2.0.3-pre2)

-This looks bad to me, but I'm afraid I don't have a clue as to what is going on here. Can anyone help?
Thanks.

If you have any problems, your first step should be to search the bug tracker, and if you do not find a report matching your symptoms, you should open a new bug report.

Thanks for the reply. Actually, I did go to the bug tracker first, but didn't find anything that looked relevant. I just looked again, and wouldn't you know it, the last one posted, yesterday, did relate to upsmon. But the posting didn't look like it related to the issue I'm having, I think. I'm not trying to do anything custom. I have a standard USB-type ups connected the the USB port on the computer. It was working fine under 6.0.1 until I switched to 7.0 rc1 this weekend (and changed computers too).
I'm not very confident that this is a bug, so I didn't want to post a report there. If that's what you think I should do though, I will.
I was wondering though, if anyone more knowlegable than me looking at the log would be able to tell what is going on. There are also tons of entries like this:
Apr 11 02:04:18 mail upsd[2303]: Can't connect to UPS [UPS] (newhidups-hiddev0): No such file or directory
Apr 11 02:04:19 mail upsmon[2308]: Poll UPS [UPS@localhost] failed - Driver not connected

Apr 11 02:09:09 mail last message repeated 13 times
Apr 11 02:09:14 mail upsmon[2308]: Poll UPS [UPS@localhost] failed - Driver not connected
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

I know this is an old post, but how did you fix the problem?
