Title: Pop3 instead of pop3s?
Post by: netsted on April 20, 2006, 01:39:13 PM
Hi!

After I installed SME7 I cannot send/receive mail via the pop3 protocol - only via pop3s. Is there any way to change this settings back the the "good old way" in SME6?

I have a problem in receiving mails in Outlook Express (not in Thunderbird), even I choose SSL in the mail-settings.

Best regards,

Michael B

An answer for this is in the bug tracker, it is actually there but it's hidden as we don't recommend going unsecure.

You can never send mail via pop3. POP is a receive-only protocol.

I think he means SMTP for out going.  I'm having the same issues.  I'm trying to replace a dead 6.01 box.  I relcreated users and set the DBconfig to use pop3, so I don't have to change user configs right now.  I can't send email from my remote locations.
