Title: ASUS P4S800-MX SE Motherboard
Post by: Teviot on April 24, 2006, 02:12:11 PM
I understand that this should proberbly be reported in bugtracker, but, I finally downloaded the iso file for SME v7rc1.

Installing to the hard-drive went fine. But on boot up it stalls in the interactive startup section

It initalizes the following hardware

storage, network, then stalls on audio.

Has anyone got any suggestions?

Regards
Adrian

Not sure if something like this (hardware) should be reported as bug?!

Have you tried disabling audio in BIOS, not like you would need it

I had so many problems with this mobo, not only trying SME, but also Mikrotik.
I had better results with a cheap PCChips mobo, and it's what I used instead.

I agree with Stuntshell. I tried to build a new SME7 server based on this mobo. It was so unstable I dumped it and turned it into a Windows PC.

Silly me.

The bios setting for the video card had been set to PCI instead of ON-BOARD.

Once the setting were changed, the whole thing went like a charm.

Don't know where the relationship between the video and audio is but that doesn't matter as everthing is working as it should

Thanks to all tose who helped
