Title: Mapped shares with no passwords!?
Post by: Twiggabe on April 25, 2006, 04:44:16 AM
I just installed SME 7 over my old SME 6.5 server box(should be new installation, I didn't chose the upgrade feature).  I'm having issues with all the user accounts I set up.

At first it seemed like only the admin and first user account I made up were the only ones that worked.  I however later found out that I couldn't log on to any share with the admin account and only the first user made up could log on to a share with a password.

After deleting and making up new users with both IE and Firefox, I then figured out why these accounts were not working.  Apparently they were able to log on to the shares without even using the passwords I made up for them!  I could even log on to the shares as admin with no passwords and be given full rights to everything.

Needless to say, I am utterly baffled by this issue, and figured that perhaps the issue might lie in the smb.conf file, but I'm not sure where to start.  Any help would be appreciated.

All issues should be reported (only) via the Bug Tracker.
Title: Wasn't sure

Sorry, but I wasn't sure as to whether this constituted a bug or not with the new SME Server 7 release.

I'll throw this in the bug report section.
