Title: squid cache manager for sme7?
Post by: tariqf on April 27, 2006, 09:28:55 PM
Is there an easy way I can manage the squid configuration in sme7? My server does not seem to cache very well as repeated downloads over a few MB are simply re-downloaded from the internet rather than cached.

I would like a rather big cache like 512MB or more but an easy way to set this and tweak otehr settings would be nice.   Anyone know of anything?

Hello,

Some time ago, I write a contrib for that
http://www.vanhees.cc/modules.php?op=modload&name=CmodsDownload&file=index&req=viewdownloaddetails&lid=139&ttitle=e-smith-squid_cache_mgt-0.2-1.noarch.rpm
It has been write for sme 5.6 but work with 6.x. I didn't test it on release 7, but if you try please feedback your experience.
Great thanks.

Regards.

Hi thanks this works perfect on sme7 rc2.

Only thing would be better is if there weer more of the squid options configurable but I can't complain it's better than nothing.

I'm trying to get squid to cache properly as it seems not to cache any large files e.g. 200MB files etc. I haveincreased my cache size to 5gig to see if that helps...

Thanks
