Post by: Pinoc on May 06, 2006, 12:37:22 PM
Trying to install CounterStriker server on my SME 6.01 but keeps geting this errormessage :
This Linux installation is unsupported. You must have GLIBC 2.3.2 or higher.
Please update your installation to a more recent version.
 For more information visit http://support.steampowered.com
Err: /lib/libpthread.so.0: version GLIBC_2.3.2' not found (required by ./test1.so)
I use yum update and as i see are everything updated.
I Type : yum update
And gets :
Gathering package information from servers
Getting headers from: SME Server 6.0.1 os
Getting headers from: SME Server 6.0.1 updates
Getting headers from: SME Server 6.x base updates
Finding updated packages
Downloading needed headers
No Packages Available for Update
No actions to take

Look ok ?

Anyone have an idea how i can update GLIBC_2.3.2 or higher ?

The only easy way to do it is to upgrade the whole system.

Yes.

If you want to see what version of glibc (or any package) is in any given SME Server then look at this page:
http://wellsi.com/sme/info/smereleases-rpms.html

Only SME 7 has glibc > 2.3.2

I had the same issue a few months ago trying to install on sme 6  ... hopefully sme 7 will be out in its final version before the year is out if not sooner.
