We currently have more than 300 users using Microsoft Mail. How do we migrate the user database to a fresh e-smith installation?

Hi,
The problem with this is that SME can import user lists, but NT cannot export MS Mail users natively. Maybe there is a tool to do this but I would know which one.
Short, it's a NT issue so dig in MS Mail forums.

What tools are available in e-smith for importing a user list? I may have a way of exporting the user list from MS Mail in CSV format. What format does the list have to be for e-smith to be able to import the usernames?
Am I right in saying that adding the usernames in E-smith first adds it in the linux users, then in the LDAP directory? Thanks for your help.

Jason,
In the Contributed HowTos section of this site, there is a HowTo for a script from Darrell May to read a text file containing the user accounts you want to create and automatically creating them for you.
Out of interest, do you know of a way to export the list of users from a W2K and an NT4 Server to a text file ?
Regards,
Kelvin

Check out the The Unofficial NT Hack FAQ:
http://www.nmrc.org/faqs/nt/
Look at Section 3 and 9 for the tools used to dump the user names and passwords.

Here you can also find a free tool for exporting a list of users.
