Title: Network prob in 6.0.1-01 restored after rollback from 7.0rc2

I tried twice to install 7.0rc2 and aborted due to various problems.
Various network problems have emerged in the restored (from desktop) 6.0.1-01 that I am using now.  Permissions on shared resources are not sticking on XP clients.  If an XP client PC leaves the domain for a workgroup they cannot rejoin with an error saying the user (admin) does not exist.
Any help appreciated.
