Hi experts
Web mail works great on my new 7.0rc2 new & fresh install.
I can not get Outlook or Thunderbird to work
I can connect using telnet sitename.com 25
I am really confused on how to use POP3S and SMTP
I think I have tried all combinations with no result
The SME server is server only.
DHCP comes from a Multitech Route Finder
Below is the current port forwarding rules
(the double 80 is because we have a second web server)
Any suggestions will be appreciated
Thanks
Old tony

You haven't said exactly what you tried to do, what you expected to see happen, or what happened instead. Please read http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html and try again.

If your webmail is working, both sending and recieving via local and remote computers etc.
I believe in the server-manager you must enable pop3 private-public to retrieve mail via remote client, however please read the documentation regrading pop2 and imap settings for the pros and cons of which may be best for you.
Mail client typically as follows:
incoming mail server = mail.yourdomain.com
outgoing mail server = smtp.yourdomain.com
-
For remote smtp you need to
1 Turn on SSMTP
2 Port forward port 465 on the router.
