Title: Where to get GCC for SME-Server?
Post by: mien on May 16, 2006, 09:22:28 PM
I want to install GCC (GNU compiler) on my gcc server, in order to be able to compile GCI programs written in C dirrectly on the server.

Where (an how) to get and install a distribution of GCC for SME-Server 6?

You need devtools, this thread should point you in the correct direction:

Thank you very very much!

I just downloaded this file:
e-smith-devtool-1.12.0-01.noarch.rpm

I don't want to look like an idiot, but... what should I do now with that file to get GCC installed on my SME-Server?

mien I think you will need more than that single rpm!

Do a bit of searching on the forums to guide you towards the packages you need to make an SMEserver into a development machine, you will also find how you install said packages.
