I've just started playing with SME Server 7.0RC2 and I'm very impressed with the functionality and professional quality of this product.
The Backup function within the server manager works great, but I was wondering how to setup an automated daily backup of the SME Server to a share on my Windows box. I want the SME Server backup to run at 10:00 pm and save the backup file to a share on the Windows server, and then my Windows server runs a Backup Exec job at 11:00 pm. This would mean that I get a nightly backup on tape of both machines.
Any suggestions and guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I do this from the Windoze box with the excellent SyncBack. The freeware version is great and works well as a scheduled task (scheduled from within the program, appears in Scheduled Tasks). So instead of pushing from the SME box, you'd be pulling from the Windoze box.
