Title: changing NIC to 3Com Gigabit (3C2000)

We 're changing our NIC. I have a driver on a CD but I come into problem with "make". I do not have gcc yet.
So, my question:
Is this the best way, getting gcc and go further with make (even using make load or better using the sme menu?)??
If it is, can someone tell me precisely what to do to get gcc?
If it is not, is there another way to get to 3c2000.o?

Your best choice is to use hardware which is already supported. If you need support for newer hardware, you should upgrade to SME7.
