Have you verified the MD5sum is correct for that .iso
There has been an issue with some of the mirrors not being fully synchronised. What mirror did you use?

The mirrors I checked seem to have an incomplete iso file (only 367M).
The correct file size is 459M (481306624 bytes) and can be found at http://mirror.contribs.org/smeserver/releases/7/iso/

On my second attempt I got the SME 7 RC3 iso downloaded with the right checksum (had to use the US server though.)
It was getting stuck on
Calibrating delay using timer specific routine.. 1471.39 BogoMIPS (lpj=735695)
but a quick change of RAM has helped that...
It's now mentioning (very quickly - so i don't know exactly what it said) anaconda - I presume the chosen installer - before the monitor goes into power saving mode, and then the machine gradually powers things down according to non use...
Anyone have any bright ideas as to what I should try next?
Ah - My other monitor (a more helpful one by the looks of it...) says Out of range: H17kHz V177Hz.
177 Frames per second?
Bloomin' eck - no wonder the montior isn't happy.
Cheers
Bob
PS - Hardware is a fujitsu Multitainer (http://www.fujitsu-siemens.co.uk/rl/servicesupport/techsupport/consumer/MULTI/multip2.htm):
PPS - Trying the keysequence suggested in: http://forums.contribs.org/index.php?topic=32009.0
Neither holding shift (on the IR keyboard - Yuck) nor tab, enter, enter, tab, enter seemed to do anything at all...
PPPS - Tried connecting a TV to the Composite output - worked well - up until the point that the monitors give up - then it turned into a set of broken diagonal lines - and I could see that I was doing something - I just didn't know what!!!
