Title: smeserver as DNS server
Post by: purpaboo on June 16, 2006, 02:01:16 PM
Hi

Running a 7.0 RC3 box which will soon go live as a production server to replace a 6.0 box.

I'm looking to use smeserver to serve DNS both locally (which it does fine) and globally too.  My problem is that there doesn't appear to be any global settings available.

For exmaple in 6.0 in the "hostnames and addresses" section of the web interface, there was the option for both "local" and "global" IPs.  In 7.0 there is only the "local" option.

Has this functionality been dropped from 7.0 or is it just me being a numpty?

If anyone can gently point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it.

TIA

Pete

The Global feature only worked if you were a subscriber to the Mitel ServiceLink package.

We very strongly recommend that everyone uses competent professional services to publish global DNS. Such services are usually very inexpensive (or free).
