Hi,
I'm having some difficulty here with SME 7RC3.
What I have done
- I tested a hardware router giving my SME box 192.168.1.2 as an external IP. The server is in server&gateway modus.
- I stopped testing and reconfigured and rebooted the server to its original setup dhcp client as identifier and server and gateway as modus.
What goes wrong
- I checked the server-manager overview and it still shows the external IP as 192.168.1.2 whereas ifconfig seems to indicate it has one of the ip range from my ISP.
- Also when trying to check open ports by means of scan.sygate.com I get no open ports whatsoever.
- E-mail used to come in on port 26 (my ISP blocks port 25) and was redirected locally to port 25. For some reason the mail does not get through.
What I have tried to do to fix it
- reconfigured the server and rebooted. => no effect
I hope someone has a fix for this problem. I have attempted to make a bugrequest for it but had some trouble logging in. Will try later today ... need sleep first ;-)
In the meantime if anyone has a solution pleas share!! :)
Regards,
Jan

Hi All,
Ok so I got it working again by donig the following:
- I again set my External IP manually, this time to the IP I just got assigned from my ISP (Is dynamic but I've got this one for about a year now)
Result: all ports that used to be open opened again and in server-manager review configuration the internal IP that wouldn't leave was gone.
- I again reconfigured the server to get the external IP from dhcp.
Result: all seems to work fine now.
Question still remains. How was it possible that the external IP which had changed back (I checked with ifconfig in console) didn't show up in the server-manager?
OK I feel a bug comming on :P

Jan

Hi Charly,
You are right ofcourse, I do intend to post this on bugtracker.
Trouble was that at the time of the first message I could not receive any mail and therefore could not login on the bugtracker with my newly created bugtrackeraccount.
This last post was meant for those not having a clue how to get their server to function.
Will now post a bugreport.
Kind regards,
Jan :-)
