Hello everybody!
My SME server has the domain name englert.dk. I wanted to create the new host name michel.englert.dk, and make it point to some i-bay, so when typing "michel.englert.dk" in the web browser I whould see the content of my i-bay. I created the new hostname (pointing to "Self"), then created the i-bay, and then created the virtual domain name "michel.englert.dk", making it point to the i-bay. But then, trying to open the page from my browser, I got the error "Server not found or DNS problem".
I am wondering if the problem is the settings of my DNS provider. Is that possible that the provider makes the domain englert.dk point to my machine for web and mail, but not for the DNS services, that is that I can't add any host names like XXX.englert.dk? If yes, what should be the settings like?
Thank for help.

your ip address
a record your ip
mx record your ip

If you are trying to access from the LAN, no. If you are trying to access from the Internet, yes.

The hostnames you set up via the server manager are not visible from the Internet. The names that are visible from the Internet need to be set up by your DNS provider (or you, via their administrative interface), and have nothing to do with the SME server at all.
