Title: Configuring Server via Web-Interface
Post by: Uwe Schreiber on January 23, 2002, 07:31:45 PM
Hi folks,

i've successfully installed the WEBMIN-Interface (available at www.webmin.com) !!

It's great to work with and so the server is very easy to administer on things which could not be accessed over the 'standard'-Interface.

But be patient with this interface. You could misconfigure the server !!

btw: you should download the tar.gz file (NOT the .rpm) and install it manually

Greetings Uwe

...and if you'd bothered to search on this here, you would have seen that it's been discussed many times, and is not recommended for an e-smith/SME system because it conflicts with the way e-smith stores its information.  Really, if you don't like the way e-smith is administered, why not just use redhat?

ups. sorry...

my webmin works well. of course i can use a full RedHat installation, but it's 'to big' for my needs.

I don't have said that i don't like the way the e-Server is administrated. But where are the 'fine tuning'-tools ??
