I've tried to install SME on an old HP pavillion 6638 but I get the following error message:

'The SME Server CD was not found in any of your CDROM drives'

This is after the language and local settings have been set

 To date I have tried/checked:
 - md5sum is correct
 - several different cd-r brands and speeds have been used to burn image
 - several different cdrom drives have been used (they were configured correctly...)
 - bios setting has been changed from auto to cdrom for laughs
 - I can read the cd's in other machines
 - I have tried older cd's (pre4, rc1, etc.)  which DID work on other machines but with no luck
 - I don't have a spare machine to try this V7.0 final cd on...

The machine has 256Mb and a celeron 533 in it.

Any ideas out there on what else to look for/try?  Thanks in advance!

I've had success disabling DMA before installing on older hardware:

Hit "Esc" as soon as your machine starts to boot off the CD, at the command line type:

 sme ide=nodma

Hopefully your install will no suceed, if it does please let us know.

If it still fails press "Alt" + "F2" and then "Alt" + "F3" at the point the install stop and lets know what messages you are getting at the other consoles.
