I had to restart my DSL modem and as a result received a new external IP address. Trouble is, dyndns.com didn't pick up the new address and broadcast it. When I emailed them, they said their logs didn't show any client for my zone ever sending an update.
I selected the dyndns.com option when I set up the server and put in my username and password. Any idea on why it isn't transmitting the changed IP like it should?
Thank You.

Dan,
Is your modem also a router?

All things which don't "just work" should be reported via the Bug Tracker. Thanks.

No - just a normal modem AFAIK. I was able to change the IP manually on dyndns.com's site, but of course this SHOULD be auto-magic.

Which is exactly why this issue belongs in the Bug Tracker.

Ok - I have submitted this to Bug Tracker. In the meantime, however, I could STILL use some help if anyone knows how to make this work properly. Surely someone has come up with a fix or workaround??
Thank you.

Try doing
#ddclient -force

ddclient is not part of base SME server software.
