Hi,
Some of my users are complaining that IMP "times out" when they're composing long e-mails.
I've suggested that they compose the mesage into Notepad, and then paste the text into the webmail interface..... but I wish IMP wouldn't time out.
1) Is this something I can control?
2) Or is it more likely to be related to the router I'm using (Draytek).
I'm now running fversion 7.0, but 5.6 webmail behaved in the same way.
btw: I'm very pleased with SME 7.0.... and I've now made a small donation. I hope to give more in the future!
Thanks,
Mat Hubbard.

Hi Mat
How long are people finding that they have the compose window open before it "times out"?
I've just turned webmail on and am doing a bit of playing to see if I can find anything obvious.

Timeout usually occurs after about a minute.
I guess this a problem for a lot of php based websites where there is no cliemt/server connection whilst data is being composed.
....I guess I'd like to know what causes the time-out. Does the SME server close the 'session' if there has been no activiity for a defined period?

I've had a look at various logs to see if I can pinpoint at what point the server decides that the session is closed, but have not been abale to find anything. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place.
Sure someone else will pop along soon and tell you how to extend the timeout period.

Did you ever find a solution to this timeout problem? One of my users is complaining about it and I'd like to make it a little longer.
Cheers
David.

Anyone know what to change, I need to figure it out as well. I did it on the old SME6 server, but I don't remember what it was. I will post if I find out.
