what are the pc requirements for SME SERVER 7.0?

Any i586 / i686
IDE or SATA disk(s)
As much memory as you can throw at it.
Basically almost any PC hardware, what YOU needs really depends upon what you want to use your server for.
If you are looking at putting machine together to play with, I've SME7 running on Pentium 233 with a tiny hard drive and 128Mb of memory, but I wouldn't want to use that spec. in a hardworking enviroment.
This current thread is worth a read:

I've noticed that it's possible to abort the install, and use i586 rather than i386 binaries.
I have a i386 install on a 2Ghz P4. Would I notice much difference if I re-installed with i586 binaries.,... and are these well supported?
Thanks,
Mat.

Mat as you are using a Pentium 4 which is an i686 processor I suggest you run with a std i686 install.
The i586 option is for older / non i868 compatible processors such as the original Pentium processor.
