I've been using Netjuke for years, but they haven't updated the project since '02 -- any suggestions on a good MP3 server program?
Thanks,
Chris Buechler

I believe slimserver has been suggested once: http://www.sonoracomm.com/sonoracomm/pdf/slimserver_howto.pdf

The Netjuke code was folded into Jinzora, and there's an excellent implementation of same available here:
http://www.dungog.net/sme/webapp.php#jinzora
You just have to enable the repository, instructions for which are elsewhere on the dungog site. I just installed it yesterday; smooth as silk.

Try zina
http://www.pancake.org/zina/
I use it & it works a treat

i use Zina and it works pretty ok.....
But it is troublesome to get jinzora to work,,,

I think the best thing about SlimServer is the SqueezeBox...
http://www.slimdevices.com/pi_squeezebox.html
The SlimServer howto is now located here:

Please send any corrections, suggestions or additions to me gcooper(at)sonoracomm.com.

High Chris,
firefly may do the job for you. You may fetch the files as rpm packages with short instruction from
http://schwarzecker.homelinux.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=123&Itemid=2
It does even serverside reencoding if you use iTunes on your client machine. http://schwarzecker.homelinux.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=124&Itemid=2
To see a typical scenario you may watch one of this presentations.
