Title: Admin console in telnet
Post by: Quade on January 26, 2002, 05:24:57 AM
OK, so I have to admit that being able to telnet into my server and getting the admin console (the same one I see when I'm physically at the server) is nice, and I like being able to administer the e-smith server remotely. (I know, I know, not secure, but I do it....)

However, Using Windows XP telnet, I can't access any of the other consoles (like hitting alt+f2)

Is there a way to (temporarily) disable the console in telnet?

TIA,
Quade

Don't log in as admin; use root instead.  Of course, it's MUCH better to use ssh...

Well, I originally tried to log in as root, but it told me that the login was incorrect. Then I tried admin, and got the console. I like having the console, btw... is that new with 5.0?
