Hello all

I am on the verge of getting an SMEserver into my workplace, at the moment everything is 100% Microsoft, I tried to get Smoothwall in but management decided to go with M$ ISA server, much to my disgust.

We now have a requirement to put together a database of all hardware on a reasonably large site, I have been given the task of finding a solution, I would dearly love to get a Linux box in my workplace, so please help me by suggesting some php / MySQL scripts / applications which will do the job.

I need something web based, with multiple users (some users may only view the data) fairly flexible re data fields.

Your suggestions are very welcome.

Once I get one machine in I can prove to management that Windows isn't the only viable OS.  We are running a trial at the moment with OpenOffice and is going well, I would like to build on that success.

Dave

You could try this, whilst I personally haven't used it, from the website it sounds excellent.
