Title: Mysql and E-smith
Post by: Scott Lewis on January 27, 2002, 01:14:36 PM
Is there any How To on getting ot setting up mysql. I am thinking of downloading a few instant messenger scripts and one of them uses mysql but have no idea on how to use it in e-smith.

Any guidance?

Hi,

MySql is already installed on SME. Follow your 'script' installation instructions.

Thats is, unless the messenger script says:-

create a mysql database and create the required tables with the file db.sql

So, I have no instructsion on even where to start. Especially as there is no documentation with e-smith about how to setup or administer mysql.

Hi,

These are standard MySQL commands and I'n not familiar with them.

Take a look at www.mysql.org for instrcutions, or take a look at this document wich instructs a user to create a MySQL database and a user for it.

Hope it helps.
