I followed this HowTo document on SME 7 final and everything appeared to install OK
http://no.longer.valid/phpwiki/index.php/How-To%20install%20VMware%20free%20server%20on%20a%20SME%207.0%20Host
In Step 7), it says "Client packages can be downloaded from the same place as the server.", but I don't see any reference to a Client package on this page...( http://www.vmware.com/products/server/ ) Do I need a client package if I already have VMWare Workstation?"
Pardon my ignorance, but I've never used a VMware server before, just VMware workstation and I'm looking for a tip on how to connect to the virtual server and set up new virtual PCs.
Thanks,
Chris Buechler

I think the link you are looking for is this:
http://register.vmware.com/content/download.html
Here you will find the console (VMware Server Windows client package) so you can access your virtual server and set up new virtual pc's.

I just wrote a reply about the differences between Workstation and Server and how the Console and MUI relate to it. Plus a little story of how I crashed my SME twice while running 4 VMs (CPU utilization was redlining - still had memory to spare).
However, clicking Submit took me back to a login screen and all was gone.
Anyway, VMware have some good docs and forums for this stuff.
