I setup a new SME 7 server in the last few days - setup as a domain controller. It is working very well so far except. We do have one XP workstation that runs a mssql database program. We need to make a share of the data folder so the client programs can connect to it. When this machine is logged into the domain there is no share option - ie the user doesn't have permission to create a share.
Should I log in as admin and create the share? or is there a way to give the user those rights?

Hello,
Please... Create the users you need localy on your XP machine...
Ex: SME Domaine user (efreddy) = Windows XP local user (efreddy) !
Put the same password to...
And you should now have access to it ...

But that is why you use the domain contoller option - so users and authentication are managed by the domain instead of at each workstation.
I guess I'll have to go onsite and see if the domain user can be added to the power users or the administrators group on that workstation.
